Walking on The Trent – Season 2 – January Transfer Window (End)

At the end of the last post, I commented about certain dealings that would be coming in.

As always happens, scouts have been all over Europe, looking for the best young talents for me to pick up, and develop. This was no different.

In came Andre Girao (POR, Left Winger) from Academia for £600k, Midfielder Martin McMeekin from Kilmarnock for £66k (with a loan return), and young Northern Irishman, Callum Buckle on a free.

Lee O’Connor and Chris Willock joined on loan from Manchester United and Benfica respectively.

Along with the aforementioned McMeekin, 3 other players left on deadline day.

Ben Osborn left for Stoke, for a fee of £7m, Matty Cash went to the Premier League and Brentford for £3.6m, and Alex Mighten went to West Ham for £4.6m. In all, the window saw us bring in over £25m in fees, something that would go towards the development of our youngsters.
