Season Two – End of Preseason

We’ve reached the end of Preseason in the 2018/19 season, with 4 wins in the friendlies we had, and improvements in team morale.

Wigan are our first opponents, coming to the Keepmoat to open our season, and hopefully, we do better than our last meeting, where they ran out winners in the last game of last season.

Since the last update, 4 more players have come to the club, 2 on loan, two youngsters signing on free transfers.

Firstly, the loan signings –

Marcelo Djaló, a 24 year old Spanish centre half on a season long loan from Fulham.

Marcelo Djaló

He is well rounded, and adds a lot to the side, he fell out of favour at Craven Cottage, and I managed to scout him several times, with the intention of looking to move for him in 12 months. However, his agent approached, and I was able to secure a loan deal.

The other loan signing is Juan Castillo, an 18 year old Dutch left sided player from Chelsea. I intend to use him at left back, hes not great defensively, but offers something going forward.

The youngsters, Harry Hamblin, a defensive minded midfielder, signed from Southampton, and versatile defender Luca Ercolani, who was released by Manchester United.

They both come in to play for the Under 23s this season, and, depending on their development, may see some match time later on in the season.
